Get Your Baby a Folding High Chair

When you have your first baby, you make a lot of mistakes. There's no two ways around this. Maybe this is why the first is so special, because you both are sort of like new at your respective functions. But by the time your second or third comes around you will want to have gotten down some of the basics of child-rearing. This includes a key item called a folding high chair. Maybe you have heard of it?

A folding high chair is so much better than a non-folding one because you can take it wherever you go. Let's say that you're going over to a friend's and you're bringing your little toddler. What do you do if your friend doesn't have any kids? They're not going to have a high chair ready for you to use. Luckily you can just grab yours out of your car and unfold it in the kitchen. That is the solution to that problem.

Another thing that may happen, is that you don't want your kitchen to look like it belongs to the baby at all hours of the day. There are still those occasions when you long for a cleaner existence, right? Well, with a folding high chair you don't have to do anything more than just stick it in the closet. Its compact design allows you to stored it just about anywhere with a little spare space.

Babies will love you for having thought of them in this manner. You can now take them out to eat wherever you go (not that you'll always want to). It's just another one of those little inventions that makes being a parent a little bit easier. These days it is all about portability (mobility) and quick and easy setup. That is the new standard for a useful item for your little toddler.

Baby furniture is quite an investment these days, and you would be well advised to keep what you buy for the first baby so that following siblings will be able to use it. The choice of a folding chair will make it easier for you to store it for a longer time, should you need to.

Choosing a folding high chair can be a confusing proposition, as technology has changed things, and designs are so diverse. Safety issues are the most important and you should be careful to inform yourself about the best folding high chairs.

Copywriting For the Internet Can Be Fun But Also Rewarding

Freelance copywriting for the internet is often a tough nut to crack, but it can also be a rewarding experience. Part of the difficulty lies in the fact that copy is used in a number of places including splash pages, bio pages, content, white paper and product reviews. Each use of your written copy demands a different mindset and angle of persuasion:

  • Splash pages require the fewest amount of words, yet the writing has to be powerful enough to draw the reader to the click here for more info button.
  • White pages often require that the subject mater be dry and technical, yet the copy cannot allow for boredom to set up the reader.
  • Content is the general term used for the copy seen on any page at a website. Content often includes HTML, images and information. A general sales pitch about the product or information is normally found in content. Content often requires a call to action.
  • Product reviews are a combination white paper and content in that technical information is presented that is persuasive and truthful. How do the features of the product resolve the needs of the potential buyer?
  • Bio pages, or About Me pages, are special. The copy is designed to build trust in the site owner or presenter of the information. The About Me page is instrumental in bringing the personal touch to a tangible feel on the site.
Another challenge presented to the author that writes copy for the web is satisfying the client's requests. This is not to say that clients are tough to deal with, this is just an indication that communication needs to be improved between the author and and the client. It is the responsibility of the author to find every detail needed to bid on, start and complete the job, so the author should ask all the questions about the job.

Not understanding the totality of the project and/or being intuitive to the client's needs can lead to extra writing and time which certainly lowers the author's actual pay rate for the given job.

Having to change styles to meet every instance required when writing copy for the internet can be a daunting task, but if an author can do this successfully, boredom will rarely set in and the writing will remain fresh. Change of pace can be rewarding and help transform a difficult task into a fun and rewarding challenge.

Article Writing Tips - No More Bloody Singing

I love Spamalot. It's one of the most refreshing plays I've had the pleasure of listening to in a long time. Remember the classic line, "No more bloody singing?" Of course you do. But what you're probably wondering is what it has to do with writing articles. Well, keep reading and I promise you that it will all become quite clear. But first, we have to understand the context of that line.

For those who didn't see the play or didn't get it, the line is essentially the man being fed up with all the singing that's been going on, thus resulting in his demand that it stop. It's not so much the singing itself that he objects to. It's that it was all so nonsensical. There was no point to any of it and after a while, he just couldn't take it anymore. Okay, so what has this got to do with article writing?

Some article writers have a tendency to ramble on, and not just for one article, but for every article that they write. They write in a style where there is more style than substance. Maybe they crack way too many jokes when they write. Maybe the give too many opinions and not enough facts. Whatever it is, after a while, the readers of these articles reach a point where they've had enough of your bloody writing and tune you out.

How can you tell? well, if you submit your articles to article directories, you will begin to see a gradual decline in the number of views you get. This is an indicator that some of your loyal fans aren't so loyal anymore. They're just plain sick of your style. I have personally never asked for feedback on my writing because quite honestly, I couldn't care less. I enjoy writing and write what I like. If a few people get enjoyment out of what I write, all the better.

However, if your livelihood depends on people reading your articles and acting on them, then it is in your best interest to knock off the bloody singing and give your readers what they're looking for...a solution to their problem. Otherwise, you might find out that you're singing to an empty room.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Stretch Mark Removal Surgery

Two of the main stretch mark removal surgeries today are the: abdominoplasty known as the "tummy tuck" and laser stretch mark removal.

With laser stretch mark removal you take a high concentrated beam of light and direct it into the problematic area. The laser destroys old and damaged skin cells and stimulates new collagen and skin growth to replace the old scar tissue.

The surgery can take several treatments and has to be based on a case by case basis. It depends on the size and level of damage to the skin being treated.

Afterwards, the skin can be sore and reddish in color. In rare cases burns and blisters occur temporarily.

If the skin is very badly damaged then sometimes the surgery can only lessen the visibility. It depends on the depth and age of the scarring.

Laser surgery can be costly it depends on the amount work needed performed. Sometimes procedures only last a few treatments but some can go on for a long period of time.

A "Tummy Tuck" or abdominoplasty is the second method of removal.

Excess skin is removed on the lower abdomen and is tightened below the belly button. The sugery lasts from two to six hours generally.

Depending on the level of surgery needed partial or full sedation is used. For recovery afterwards you will feel pain and swelling and physically strenuous activity is to be avoided. Bruising takes from three to six months to get rid of.

Abdomenoplasty procedures range anywhere from four thousand to twenty thousand it depends on the pre/post operative care, anesthesia used, medicine, and facility fees for the surgery.

For alternatives to costly stretch mark removal surgeries there are two new products from verseo the Verseo Detox Body Wrap and the Verseo Stretch Mark Vanishing Milk. Learn where you can Buy Verseo Detox Body Wrap and where you can buy Verseo Stretch Mark Vanishing Milk.

What Women Want

Women go though many phases in their lives. Lest of which is a phase which appears to be more and more common right across the western world today.

That is the stage in their life when a number of events and circumstances seem to converge together. Some are natural & some are imposed, but regardless of who they are, or where they are, they will experience some or all of these things whether they want to or not.

This "converging" of events is definable and very important. In fact so important that for many, the decisions that they make during this phase may indeed influence the rest of their life.

Currently the largest group of people in the World, are the combined groups called Baby Boomers and X Gen's.

Baby Boomers are people born after World War 2 & cover an 18 year period from 1946 till 1964 in which 76 million babies were born in the U.S, over a Billion World wide.

X Gen's are people born between 1964 and 1976 that's 51 million people (considerably smaller than the boomer group but never the less a large number). That means that boomers are currently aged between 45 & 63 and X Gen's aged between 33 & 45 right now.

Let's say that approximately 50% of them are women.

That's a lot of people!

If we were to generalize about the culture of the world and about popular accepted beliefs as this group of women grew up, entered the work force, got married, left the work force started families and then later re entered the work force and how women saw themselves and how they fitted into society during that time. Then all of these factors have contributed to the "Phase" in their lives that they (to a greater or lesser degree) may have gone though or may be going though right now.

So what is this "Phase" and what are the changes that occur?

The Phase can be broken down into groups of events:

1. The kids, who you have loved & invested the last 16 to 20 years into looking after, finally leave home. Or your kids are now teens or pre-teens.

2. Menopause Strikes!

3. You begin to hunger for more from life.

4. They start to feel old

5. Divorce.

These events aren't necessary connected other than that circumstance and age appear to converge at around the same time, and the emotional nature of the events have a Chris crossing influence on other events, for this very large group of women.

The Kids grow up and leave home.

You may have been longing for or dreading this moment for a long time. On the one hand;

Finally can do what YOU want to do. Finally you're getting your independence back. Finally you can have a career or pick up the one that you put aside to have kids. Finally you can have your own money or can study, enjoy a sense of going somewhere where you feel like you belong, have a sense of community, and are doing something you enjoy. Finally you are more than just a Mum & a Wife. You can create a new and exciting identity.

Or

You feel lonely perhaps even feels a real sense of loss, even a loss of purpose. Now you have too much time on your hands, to much time to think and dwell. Now your mind plays games with your self confidence and self worth as you think about the past & the future. Now is not a good time, as every one else around you seems to be doing important things in interesting places with other people, while you sit at home.

Menopause Strikes

Menopause signals the ending of the reproductive cycle for a woman. As such, their body will go though natural hormonal changes that will influence how they feel how they cope and how they behave. Pre-menopause often begins in the early 40's but can begin earlier. Where they may still be having periods but the symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes or night sweats, start to occur.

Research suggests that menopause can last till their mid 50's and for some, for the rest of their life.

The condition can affect a women's libido, it can produce mood swings sudden tears or fatigue. It can produce sleeplessness & night sweats which adds to their fatigue. It can cause memory loss, momentary confusion and a loss of concentration.

It can produce sudden dizziness, weight gain, anxiety, depression, irritability and headaches. As well as aching or sore tendons muscles and joints. (Unfortunately these aren't all of the symptoms).

They Hunger for More

They start to wonder "what If" what if I had stayed with my career. What if I had traveled or I should have. Where would I be now? Is this all there is? Is this it? What now?

They Start to Feel Old

I personally don't know many women who aren't constantly giving themselves a hard time about their weight or other invisible blemishes that only they can see.

Both Boomers and X Gen's are not enjoying what age is doing to their bodies and are very interested in anything that will delay the aging process.

Divorce

When I say this, it's not because I believe that the first four are the cause of divorce. I'm not saying that divorce is the women's fault. (Statistically this may not be their first marriage either)

Divorce at this stage of life has as much to do with their husband's mental emotional and physical changes as it does to their wife's. (More on that in a later article)

What can happen is that during their life together to date, which could be 5 to 20 or more years, they have simply not stayed "connected."

For him or for her, their interests may have changed their values maybe different. Their needs within a relationship, what they want from a relationship may have changed.

What seems to be common is a "questioning."

Who am I? What do I want? What have I achieved? Where am I going? A sense of resentment that they haven't lived the life they now realize they want to live.

If they don't learn to support each other and communicate with each other through this time, then they may indeed end up parting.

Often that parting is not done well or honestly. Often it is not by mutual consent. Often it is a complete shock to the one being left; leaving them feeling bruised humiliated and abandoned by their partner.

(All of this may leave you feeling a little sad, that isn't my intention. Remember not all relationships end, the sky does not fall and the sun still rises each day and many relationships grow stronger).

So where does that leave us?

For many women this convergence of events, this cocktail of circumstances, leaves them feeling nervous but they know it's just what they have to do (if they were the one leaving).

For others it can leave them feeling venerable at one end of the scale and vengeful at the other (If they were the one who was left).

For many women it is a time of searching, a journey of discovery. It may feel like a mid life crisis but really is a mid life awakening.

Most intuitively know that it's up to them to make the most out of themselves even if they don't yet know how.

And at some point it dawns on them that they have been doing that their whole lives anyway.

So once the guilt of leaving; or the pain of being left begins to fade. Once the acceptance of the challenge begins to settle, what begins to blossom is a stronger more determined women who knows in her heart, that to do more than just survive, to do more than just live day to day, she must trust her self, let go, learn and grow.

What becomes very important is their friends their security and their independence.

As a generalization, for many women Baby Boomers they realize that historically all of the family's finances were handled by their husbands. They realize that they may not know how to buy a house organize a mortgage or run house hold accounts let alone run a business or write a resume or how to handle a job Interview. But now they either have to or want to.

As a generalization, for many female X Gen's, they may already be familiar with many of those elements but may still feel the tug of loneliness that creeps up at night as they lay alone staring at the ceiling, worrying about their own ability to put food on the table & succeed.

What is clearly evident either because of crisis or because of desire, what these women want is to be more financially independent. Feel more confident. Be in more control of their lives and their destiny. And be loved.

They want to learn more about the creation of money, business, tax, health, Wills and Trusts.

How to set meaningful goals. How to feel more confident. How to stand up for themselves. How to get rid of doubt and fear. How to let go of the past and break free from negative emotions. How to trust again; feel safe without compromising their independence. Stop feeling insecure needy or guilty.

And that there is a difference between selfishness and self preservation.

They want to redefine who they are, create empowering rules that enable them to say "No" to unhealthy relationships, be free to follow their hearts and be able to really balance work play kids and relationships without having to put aside their own needs.

What women want is what we all want, to be happy and free.

And our "Go For Gold-Goal Setting that really works" Program, empowers them to do that.

Computer Game Writing

Good computer game writing is mostly found in two major genres of games. Role playing games and first person shooter games. However, it wasn't always the case! FPS games were once only considered great for their engine and available weapons. However the Half Life series and Deus Ex changed all of that. When I look back at my (too many) years of gaming experience all of the games I can remember had great writing. Well, there's a reason for this:

The badly written ones weren't worth remembering!

I had to actually go through my collection of loose game discs to find the ones I'd forgotten. These include some pretty big name games, starting with "Black and White" by Lionhead. This is a good example of where they were far too interested in the engine and game mechanics to work on a story that really engaged the player. There was far too much emphasis on the controls and the belief system used to influence the world, and I felt I was merely watching a game rather than being part of its story.

Another example of bad story telling and computer game writing in general, has to be "Doom3". This has always been one of ID Games' problems. The reasons I've heard for this revolve around the games being made to showcase the engine.

So why should developers care about computer game writing? What does it bring to a game? Lets start with believable characters that the player can identify and connect with. Or an engaging plot that draws the player in. Or an interesting setting that provokes an emotional response such as a bustling city or vast, uninhabited wasteland. Although many of these aspects are thought up by the game-designers, someone needs to bring the game to life using these features. Valve has always been a pioneer in computer game writing, having their own dedicated writer in the form of science fiction writer; Mark Laidlaw. He has helped shape Gordon Freeman's story since the first Half Life game and continues to keep the plot and characters interesting. Due to the intrigue brought to these games from his writing, it keeps fan discussion going for months before and after each release.

Another well-written game is Deus Ex, which actually had two dialogue writers! And the results there were obvious: believable and thoughtful dialogue, interesting characters and a story so in-depth it makes the Grand Canyon look shallow.

Something else good writing can provide is the different choices a player must make during a game. In the game Bioshock, you often come across characters known as "Little Sisters" who are genetically altered children. Your disturbing choice here is to either restore their DNA to normal, or to extract their valuable essence for your own means, killing the child in the process! These choices impact the story, influencing the moral compass of your character and the end result of the game. But more importantly it makes the player pause and think about the implications of their actions within the game. The writer in this case is Ken Levine, also the writer for other favourites of mine, System Shock 2 and Thief: the dark project.

Computer game writing is one of those areas that game developers often overlook. A friend of mine, who is an excellent writer, has mentioned that the number of outlets for aspiring writers is "vanishingly small" and it made me think. How many independent developers out there have a dedicated writer? When I was developing games I really should have looked into it, it would have vastly improved the quality of my dialogue and helped me tie up the loose ends in my story.

The independent title "Defence Grid: The Awakening" is an example of a fairly standard tower defence game that was vastly improved by it's writing (and admittedly it's voice acting) that may have just fallen by the wayside otherwise.

Casual game developers especially are missing out on this. I've played far too many badly written attempts at fitting a story into a hidden object or match-3 game. I'm sure that hidden object fans don't care that much, but it would be worth thinking about if they would like to attract a wider user base.

Even free games should make an effort in their writing. The wonderful "Cave Story" had a great story with memorable characters, and that's after its translation from Japanese!

Good computer game writing does not necessarily mean instant success for any game. Nor does bad writing mean instant failure. However, I would argue that the games most memorable are the ones that have the best writing. The sequels to these are the games I am most looking forward to!

Foundation of 3D Models in Video Games

Do you know that Video games and PC games are the applications that are designed by various designers and artists who are professionals in 3D model designing? Many multi-national companies provide these games which contain a creative design team that makes the body, voice and faces, species, names and many other physical characteristics of the personalities used in the games. When a company decides to use a character in the game, the creative designers and other artists will plan and work on the features to be developed to make the character to pertain to the individual game.

Many models are developed by the designers and one is selected by the decision maker. These designers make use of high technology scripts and programs and much software in which they have control. This allows them to express their ideas, as well as ability to develop proportional and perfect characters. Laser cutting or lithography is used to insert life into the characters after they are perfectly developed by the artists, designers using high tech software and scripts.

After the approval of characters, they are taken out of the original software and are implemented in the video games appropriate to the situation. Use of 3Dmodels in the designing of the characters makes sure there is a smooth conversion from the idea, to computer, TV screen or digital model.

In many ways people in society are benefited by using this 3D model applications developed by the experts in designing video games. Many applications use software like that used in video games in the design of building construction and modeling of new vehicles belonging to the motor companies. Many educational applications and scientific applications are developed from these models developed by the 3D designers. This allows them to express their ideas, and ability to develop proportional and perfect characters. Most fabulous applications are studied and researched and explained to the students as part of education. The way by which creative designers are developed in video games are used in society and it makes easier to develop an application in a less time. Use of 3Dmodels in the designing of the characters ensures a smooth conversion from an idea, to compute a digital model.

Visual art students use these applications developed by the 3D designers for comparing the grade skills level as well as knowledge retention. In many ways these applications are used by the students, doctors and engineers and many other business people and in commercial business.

Among many 3D models there are a few which became more popular in the society. One among them is Stanford Bunny. Stanford Bunny applications were developed by Marc Levoy and Greg Turk at Stanford University in the year 1994. This Stanford Bunny application was developed to test the standard of graphics programming. It was used far to test data. Other models, such as the iconic Utah Teapot, have been used as typical references as well as a device for the teaching students in graphic arts at the high school as well as the university level.

The Banking Dilemma - Business Versus Technology

It never ceases to amaze me that in the world of banking two different worlds can seemingly co-exist side by side, each oblivious of the other. There are many examples of this, such as "sound risk management" versus "business imperatives". This particular issue lies, in my view, at the heart of the current financial crisis.

However, we are probably too preoccupied with financial crisis issues at the moment, so I don't want to dwell on this here. I would rather muse on another paradoxical situation which I often, as a consultant, find so very frustrating. This is the "world of technology" versus the "world of business".

By its nature modern banking is technology driven. Data processing systems have made the huge volumes of transactions that occur each day as well as the supply of the mountainous volumes of data dealing with and supporting these transactions possible. Yet the transactions in question are all driven by business imperatives, always at the behest of the customer.

While generally bankers at the "business" end can see the interdependence between technology and banking, the same is not true for "bankers" at the "technology" end. Neither is it really true for infrastructure providers, be they domestic or international, such as payment system operators, ACHs, payment processors, messaging service providers and the like.
There is another, almost self destructive aspect to this inability of one side to understand the other. This is the inability of each element (technology and business) to either understand or to apply the skills of the other to create a harmonious whole that melds the technology with the business' requirements and other needs.

By not doing things or by not doing them right how many opportunities are missed? I shudder to think.

The Real Wonders of Government Grants

If ever you are thinking whether grants are true, wonder no more because this is in fact real. Grants are provided in different levels of government. For one, there is the federal, while the state grant also exists, and those kinds that are given by nonprofit organizations. Basically, when it comes to the application process, everything is just the same since they all follow the same principles behind. The only difference is the requirements hence a person may have the need to get a brochure while the other would ask someone to go online to properly understand how to pre-qualify.

The amount by which a person can get when US federal grant is obtained is not actually fixed. With this, expect that you will not get the same quantity that your friend received since everything will depend on the merit of proposal. When the federal grant is given to a particular recipient, every money which was spent should be recorded since the government will surely love to see where exactly the money went. It should be understood that the money which was used in order to fund the project are those that actually came from the pockets of taxpayers. It is just needed to go with the terms of agreement rather than actually hefty fines as well as penalties. In case there is some money that was left, this must be returned to someone who is also applying for a grant.

People can definitely apply for US federal grant in an easy manner since they can choose to apply in person or simply go online. In any case, there is no need for a person to pay anything because applying for this is free.

The moment when all the forms and the proposal were given, the person can simply wait until something great happen. The next for the application may arrive in just a few weeks or sometimes months after the application was submitted and the applicant simply have the need to get the check and make use of it to realize their dreams in life.
One method by which someone can check on the status of the application is by means of keeping the CDFA which is given to each and every person who is applying for a grant.

Don't expect too much though because the competition for those who are applying for US federal grant is very much intense. There are even times when the budget for a small business grant that would amount to $150 billion is still insufficient for all people applying for grants to be accommodated.

For you to have an edge over others, you can simply follow the legitimate step by step process at http://www.govt-grants.net
